How to Introduce Solid Foods to Your Baby

As a first time mom and – let’s be honest – an over thinker, I wanted a step-by-step guide to help me understand how to introduce solid foods to my baby. What foods should I start with, how many servings, could I add spices, what about allergens, should I spoon feed, etc.?  Anyone else?  Well, if you’re raising your hand yes, you’re in luck!

I’ve been looking forward to the day I could introduce solid foods to my son since before he was born. Food is a huge part of my life, culture, and my business. Cooking is my love language, my creative outlet and not to mention that our bodies depend on food for survival. So, naturally, when I got the green light from my son’s doctor to start him on solids I was pumped. Finally, my son would be able to join us at the dinner table and taste all my good cookin’. Except…there was one small problem… I wasn’t really sure where to start.

As a first time mom and – let’s be honest – an over thinker, I wanted a blueprint. I wanted a step-by-step guide to help me understand how to introduce solids to my baby – what foods should I start with, how much, could I add spices, what about allergens, etc.?
