If you’re a fan of honey mustard salad dressing, then make way for this delicious, sweet, and tangy dressing I concocted in my kitchen a few weeks ago. This recipe by far beats any store-bought dressing I’ve eaten and is is super easy to make.
Why I love this dressing?
Compromised of only 5 ingredients (honey, olive oil, dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, and a dash of fresh ground black pepper) this dressing has quickly become my go-to dressing when I am too tired to cook but still want something tasty and healthy. You know what I am talking about? Those nights when just the thought of getting dinner on the table makes you want to curl up in a ball and call for a pizza delivery. Which, btw, if that’s the route you decide to take then good for you! Even better, consider pairing your pizza with a side spinach salad drizzled with some of this here honey mustard dressing.
Often times, though, on nights when I am too tired to cook, I’ll just make a simple kale salad topped with chopped walnuts drizzle it with a bit of honey mustard dressing and pair it with a bowl of quinoa and a fried egg. It’s not fancy but it’s super filling, nourishing, and tastes delicious.
Adjust This Recipe To Your Liking
I don’t have a super sweet tooth, so when writing this recipe I didn’t want my honey mustard dressing to be too sweet. Originally, I added more mustard but found that this overpowered the sweetness of the honey and defeated the purpose of making a honey mustard dressing. I found I liked the flavors to rest somewhere in the middle — not too sweet and not too spicy, just right. Guess you can call me the Goldilocks of honey mustard dressings! 😉 Of course, if you have more of a sweet tooth, feel free to add more honey!
Most importantly, I highly encourage you to use Dijon mustard when making this dressing. Trust me, yellow mustard won’t do this recipe any favors. Personally, I love using whole grain Dijon mustard as I love the texture the mustard seeds add to the dressing.
Anyway, go ahead, give this recipe a try! And, if you do, please let me know what you think. I’d love to hear from you!
